Christmas madness

WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO YOU?

Everyone keeps asking me, while I find myself living in South East Asia, to be persist in Cambodia, where local people has no idea about it and the idea they are getting is very wry and wrong.
As American culture is taking over and "Starbucks" is THE place to be, I find myself feeling angry, sad and helpless.
My answer is 'TIME FOR FAMILY' That special closeness to every single family member, that magic jolly feeling in the air- happiness, but it's not just daily happiness, it's gratefulness, more likely, appreciation for what you got and the greatest thing we got is the FAMILY.

Nowadays I find myself very disappointed with people, who makes it into some kinda social event, consumers celebration, the opportunity to buy tons of crap, to play the game of who will get a better gift, or throws the best dinner party.
More glitter, more bling bling, more sales, more chocolate, more more more..
It makes me depressed and super lonely. I am not a big Christian myself, but does anyone really remember what is Christmas after all, why do people actually celebrates it.. what happened on THE day..
No, no one stops, no one thinks, no one realises, because everyone is too busy standing in the queue for one more unnecessary STUFF.

I don't want to buy gifts to every single colleague, because I am in this happy(mad) state of gifting everyone some STUFF they don't need, and I don't want to eat the chocolate cake while I'll be sick, and I don't want to buy STUFF, because is Christmas sales, and I don't need my Christmas tree to be the biggest in the neighborhood.

I find myself living in Cambodia and consuming so little, I don't need new shoes, I don't need new dress, I don't need one more perfume, cup, teapot all I NEED is NOTHING. I am surviving just fine without all that STUFF..

So I have decided to spend Christmas far from home and my family, don't get me wrong is the conscious decision after loosing the Grandad (the head of the family) my childhood magical Christmas is gone and I can't put my head around it to be sitting by the same table and not having him on my right (as we always had our own seats, every single year the same ones) and this year there is no Grandma either.. I know, I am locked in my childhood magical Christmas memories and I want to stay there.

So Merry Christmas Everyone!

*Maybe stop for a second and ask yourself WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO YOU!?

WHEN I MISS CREATIVE AIR

THEN I MISS CREATIVE AIR..

Every time he is writing to her no one knows if he means it..
But every time Laura does that, it means so much to her.
 All Laura needs - is to keep writing so he GETS it,
Somehow.
Maybe not from the start, but he might understand
After a while.

Only one question Laura has to herself 'Why she can't say..
 more,
Sometimes'.

Next Summer
I will take the picnic blanket with the favorite cups for coffee
and I will come back
for a whole summer.
We will pick apples
and cycle.
Gaze to the same stars
like those summer nights before.
You will smell the same
because every summer you smell the same, just like apples.

WHEN THE LAST TIME

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU:

  • said 'Hello' to the stranger in the lift;
  • complimented your colleague for the well done job;
  • volunteered for a charity, not just planed to;
  • appreciated cleaner sweeping your street;
  • thanked people who helped you accomplished your success;
  • grateful that you woke up;
  • grateful that you lived, today;
  • breathed-in very deeply;
  • actually smelled the coffee you drinking;
  • have a thought- 'what is my purpose in the world';
  • genuinely asked the person 'how is your day';
  • hand wrote * your name and signature in the bank doesn't count;
  • woke up 1 hour earlier then needed;
  • did what you said you will do;
  • ticked your bucked-list;
  • listen to live classic music;
  • looked into your dark side;
  • woke up happy...

CHANGES

'There come the time then you decide to change IT.. and its never too late or too early.
There is the right time for YOU.. It grows within you, you can feel it almost every minute, if you are aware it always around.. and suddenly even universe helps you to do it.. changes are always GREAT thing, you just need to grow to it'

Career change is always risky. But if you have a good understanding of why you’re leaving your current career, the clarity can give you the strength to enter new opportunities.
Since you know you are going to have multiple careers in your life, changing is not high stakes. Don’t make a huge deal about it and don’t spend too long searching your soul. Just start testing the water — put a toe in to see how it feels.
But first, before you do any of this, make sure it’s TIME for YOU to change what you’re doing.

My story is no different. Most of my life I have worked in hospitality sector and I can't say that I wasn't happy. It wasn't my dream job thought, but it was fun- meeting and socializing with so many unique, self-driven, engaging people, it was GREAT, actually!

I wouldn't be who I am right now, if not all those years in worst and best restaurants in the world. But in my case I always had this itch - what's NEXT?! Is that's IT ?

New places, people, titles didn't satisfy me, even changing cities and continents left me feeling unfulfilled.
Obviously there is many people who just keeps their head down and does what is comfortable- SAME.

My creative side has always bothered me the most. Since school days I loved writing a lot. Short stories, diaries, books, even poetry.
And then it was music.. I played instruments-finished music school. Loved drawing too, just it wasn't my strong side.
ART studies was big NO at that time, I used to think: It's impossible to make any living from arts anyway.
But after all, the creative bug is coming out and I can't stop it.
Just to let you know in this technology advanced century you can achieve anything you want by yourself. You don't need expensive universities or studies, everything is in front of you-in your laptop!
Again, it is mind blowing how Social Media is one of the strongest tools available to reach so easily to get all information and connections needed! just USE IT.

'As the millennial, I belong to generation who understands the concept of work- life balance and actually want to find fulfilling career'

STAY POSITIVE HONEY!

STAY POSITIVE HONEY!

I know New Year-New You, all that New Year Resolution stuff can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.
So I will tell you one thing- Life continues no matter what. You are up or you are down. It doesn't stop EVER, so just keep going, hun.
Push yourself harder whenever you feel like dropping, relax and enjoy the ride then you are up.
And for God sake, don't try to blame anyone, its no ones fault, sometimes it's just the way it is- f**king rollercoaster- one day up, next day down.
Don't worry too much. Its OK, because in the end everything happens for a reason (even the shitiest stuff).
The reason to help you to appreciate the LIFE.

Few things to keep yourself happierrrrrrrr :

  • Go for a long walk outside (don't lock yourself at home)- with good music, of course;
  • Or my way- Go for a long run, with the good music, of course;
  • Pamper yourself (we all love a bit of fresh mani or pedi on us);
  • Watch movie, which made you smile, laugh, brings you good memories from childhood;
  • Grab a milkshake (you have to try peanut butter and banana, trust me on this);
  • Call the old friend/talk to people (spit it out, it helps);
  • Or write it out, as I do;
  • Plan a holiday;
  • Do good for others (even opening the door for the neighbor will make you tap yourself on the shoulder);
  • Read Osho, always calms me down;
  • GO and get that favorite dessert of yours, we all know sugar makes us happy;
  • And now you can go and sweat it out. Workouts increase your serotonin levels(mood lifter)- exercising is great, truly!
  • Meditate..Yh I know if your head is full of crap it won't be that easy;
  • Give someone a compliment;
  • Remember hilarious moments with friends/family;
  • Make art. As Meryl Steep said "Take your broken heart, make it into art";
  • Write down 5 things you are grateful for.
